The Spear has been used by many a wrestler to put an opponent down, but today we ask the question of "who did it best?". For the sake of this post, we won't be including superstars who use it as a transitional move - like Charlotte Flair or Batista - or a once in a while addition to moves - like the Big Show or Big E's through the ropes.

5. Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley's spear is one of the more athletic iterations, with speed definitely on his side. He drills through his opponents, rolling out on his shoulders and back to his feet, allowing him to quickly get into a cover. The only thing that keeps Bobby futher down this list is that the spear isn't a consistent finisher for him in WWE. It dominated his TNA/Impact runs, but WWE seem to prefer big displays of power, such as his current Full Nelson submission move.

4. Rhyno
The Gore is a rare example of a spear becoming such a big part of an act that it got it's own name. Rhyno's build meant that having a man of his size charging at you would be enough to scare you out of your boots, let alone the tackle itself. The low centre of gravity of the big man meant that he drilled them upwards, often carrying them across the ring.

3. Edge
This may be a controversial opinion, but Edge's spear is not great. Now don't get me wrong, Edge is one of my all time favourite wrestlers, but this is one part of his game that definitely needed some work. Edge hits the middle of the list as his spear is one of the most high profile and has won him some huge matches and championships over the years. On the other hand, unless someone who can sell like Dolph Ziggler was on the recieving end, it did look a bit like Edge was hugging his opponent to the ground. A special shout out to two of the most iconic spears of all time from Edge though - to Jeff Hardy off the ladder and to Mick Foley through a flaming table.

2. Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns could have easily topped this list, it was a very close call. Roman hits with great force and speed, taking down any and all opponents. The use of spears outside the ring has been great, with the multiple people being taken through the barricade and running across announce tables being personal favourites. The way Roman leaves his feet and flies at his opponents is spectacular. Roman's spear looks even better on bigger guys too, with Lesnar, Big Show and Rusev all taking memorable tackles from the Big Dog. Roman's call for the move is also a huge part of the move, gaining crowd involvement alongside it.

1. Goldberg
Was it ever going to be anyone else? Goldberg's spear/jackhammer combo was the most dominant pair of moves anyone put together during the Monday Night War and gained him a 173-match undefeated streak and a huge fan base still loyal to him to this day. Big Bill runs through men like no one else, tackling them and driving them into the mat with a huge follow through. Putting down The Fiend is no easy feat, nor is Brock Lesnar, but Goldberg's spear has left both men unable to stop him in recent years - he is the only man with pinfall victories over both.
Who do you think the best spear belongs to? What other moves should we do a Top 5 for? Let us know down below!
