After Saturday's Double or Nothing Pay Per View, Dynamite had a lot to follow up on. What next for The Inner Circle after their loss to The Elite and Matt Hardy? Who would be Cody's first TNT Championship challenger? Would Hikaru Shida manage to continue her dominant streak in the women's division after winning the championship? Find out what happened when AEW lit the fuse this week.

The Young Buck & Matt Hardy v Private Party & Joey Janella
Saturday's win against the Inner Circle had The Elite in good spirits and they entered into this match with an extra pep in their step. Private Party are an up-and-coming tag team who can be very impressive when they are on their game and Joey Janella had a point to prove after losing in the Casino Ladder match at Double or Nothing. There was a lot of double team moves and quick tags early on in this one, before Janella hit a huge dive on Nick Jackson and then a death valley driver on the outside. With Private Party and Janella controlling the match, Private Party went for their Silly String finisher on Nick but he evaded before the action spilled back to the outside. Nick tried to take out Janella with a superkick, but he ducked and Nick connected with The Blade's jaw. After a short brawl between The Butcher & The Blade and The Young Bucks, Nick and Matt made their way back to the ring and continued the fight. Matt Hardy managed to lay out all three members of the opposing team and hit a moonsault on all of them for a triple 2-count. The action became chaotic once again shortly after this, with Private Party hitting dual Tope Con Hilo dives on The Bucks causing Marq Quen to tweak his knee. Isiah Kassidy tried to continue the match for his team but was caught by The Bucks with a More Bang For Your Buck combo, allowing Matt Hardy to take the win. Matt and Kassidy climbed out of the ring to help Quen to the back but, just as they were about to leave, The Young Bucks were jumped by The Butcher and The Blade. As The Bucks took a beating, a pick up truck pulled up in the arena and Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (formerly WWE's The Revival) hopped out and stormed the ring. It looked as though they were going to join the assault on their long time rivals, but turned on The Butcher and The Blade instead. FTR are a welcome addition to AEW's tag ranks, bringing something different to almost any team and now having the platform to prove what they have been saying all along - that they are the best tag team in the world.

Brian Cage v Lee Johnson
Brian Cage made his Dynamite debut here, joined again by Taz. His opponent was nothing more than a set dressing to show off Cage's dominant abilities and the big man put him away with ease. After the match, Taz grabbed a mic and spoke directly to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley who was at the commentary desk. Taz told Mox that, at Fyter Fest, he would be facing a machine and that Cage was going to tear Mox's heart right out of his chest. Mox smirked and just said "This is going to be fun".

The Rules of Being a Role Model
Dr Britt Baker came out to the top of the ramp in a wheelchair, recovering from the injury she sustained on Dynamite recently. She had her flip chart and an assistant with her and talked the AEW fans through rule number 3 of being a role model; Don't hurt the role model. She ran down the women that had hurt her in recent weeks and months, paying special attention to new AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida who has broken her nose and played a part in her current broken tibia injury. Baker berated her assistant for not doing things exactly as she wanted and threw her pointing stick to the floor after having said her piece. She rolled back down the tunnel, revealing the words "Roll Model" on the back of her wheelchair.
Hikaru Shida v Christi Jaynes
The new AEW Women's World Champion was in action against newcomer Christi Jaynes in a hard hitting match. Shida has become one of the more consistent performers on AEW's roster in the past few months and showed that again here. The two put forth a solid, if slightly short, match with Shida taking the win after hitting the Falcon Arrow. Jaynes had showed some fight, kicking out of a running knee attack, but Shida was too much for her.
Tony Schiavone interviews new TNT Champion Cody
The TNT Championship has given Cody a new lease of life, with the champ beaming with pride as he spoke to Tony. He told of how he was similar to Tom Brady - in that he wasn't first, second or even third choice when AEW were picking the best available wrestlers - and that he had paid his dues to get where he was now. Cody claimed that this would be where the fun begins and that his TNT Championship would be an open challenge and he would be a fighting champion. It seems as though Cody will be defending his newly won strap on a regular basis, making it the focal point of weekly Dynamite shows.

SoCal Unsensored v Kip Sabian & Jimmy Havoc
The SCU pair of Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky took on the English duo here for a tag title opportunity next week against champs Kenny Omega and Hangman Page. A fast paced match up followed, with each man throwing everything they had at each other. It is impressive how Havoc can go from being all out deathmatch brawler to a fairly strong technical wrestler in the typical British mould. The advantage swung between the teams, with SCU's experience looking like it was going to become the deciding factor as the match went on. However, Penelope Ford had different ideas and grabbed Sky's leg as he and Kaz were looking to hit the SCULater on Havoc. With some help from Sabian, Havoc managed to put Kaz away with a Michonoku Driver. This could be considered an upset but SCU have already held the tag belts, so pushing a new team into the picture is a great decision. It also frees up Kaz and Sky for some more singles action and both men have proved they can hold their own in the singles rankings.

Dynamite Battle Royal for the First Shot at the TNT Championship
Cody's declaration of being a fighting champion means that he will defend against the winner of this battle royal next week. The main notable participants here were MJF, Wardlow, all three members of Jurassic Express, Colt Cabana and Orange Cassidy. Cassidy hadn't even made his way to the ring when this one kicked off, ambling down as he usually does. MJF spent the bulk of the match hiding behind his larger protege, avoiding all conflict where possible. He picked his spots, eliminating a few people along the way and even jumping Sonny Kiss on the outside after Wardlow had eliminated him. As the field thinned out MJF, Wardlow, Orange Cassidy and Jungle Boy were the final four. MJF pulled out his Diamond Dozen ring and tried to knock out Cassidy, but the King of Sloth Style moved out of the way and MJF wiped out Wardlow instead. The faces smelled blood and managed to use the confusion to eliminate both MJF and Wardlow. A few near eliminations followed - including Cassidy holding himself on the rope by one hand - before Jungle Boy took Cassidy over with his legs, holding himself up on the top rope, claiming the win and a shot at Cody's new red strap. Jungle Boy is a good first challenger for Cody, as the two can have a friendly match which will allow both to showcase their in ring chops without becoming too caught up in the theatrics of sports entertainment rivalries.

The Inner Circle's Pep Rally
The Inner Circle vowed to soldier on after their loss to The Elite and Chris Jericho believed a pep rally was just the way to do that. As cheerleaders and part of a marching band filled the stage, Vicki Guerrero introduced each member and Jericho took to the mic. He claimed that they would rise from the ashes "like five sexy phoenixes". Each member had gifts for the others, with Sammy Guevara giving out trophies for participation, Jake Hager writing a poem for the group and Le Champion gifting the Spanish God a scooter so he didn't need to use nerdy crutches. With morale reasonably lifted, talked turned to what their leader wanted. Jericho said that all he wanted was Mike Tyson's head on a platter. This brought Iron Mike out from the back, surrounded by a posse including some other big name fighters like Vitor Belfort and Rashad Evans. Jericho wanted an apology from the Baddest Man on the Planet for the time he knocked him out almost a decade ago. He told Tyson that if he didn't apologise right now, he would knock him the hell out. As the two got in each other's faces and started a shoving match, floods of people came from the back to break up the fight. Each man tried to break free to get to the other but they were restrained, yelling at each other as the show went off the air.
What did you think of this week's Dynamite? Would you like to see Jericho take on Mike Tyson? Who else would you like to see take on Cody for the TNT Championship? Who was watching Kenny Omega and Hangman Page in their hotel room? Where will The Elite go from here? Let us know what you think on this and more down below!
